Buzz and Bake

The wet weather appears to be set in for the day, I'm not complaining we need the rain. The poor beech trees have been suffering badly, many are shedding their leaves.

Thea returned for her final day at her athletics course. She was so enthusiastic we arrived almost half an hour early. Even a few aches and pains and muscle strain haven't dampened her enthusiasm.

James and I decided to have a look around the charity shops this morning, he was especially pleased with his find Don't Buzz the Wire. We also purchased some wool and sparkly thread for our French knitting and braiding projects.

Returning home in the car James and I chatted about the rain and the noise it made on the windscreen. Following a somewhat louder splot on the windscreen James proceeded to tell me that you got bigger drops under the trees because smaller drops collecting on the leaves joined together to form larger drops. I asked him how he knew this and he said he didn't know he just did. It never ceases to amaze me how they learn and fathom things out.

Back home we decided to do some baking - treacle and date scones and a boiled fruit cake. James weighed out all the ingredients, working out the required weight combinations from the selection of available weights.

James rubs in.
